Broncos would be willing to trade Orton to rival Raiders

The Raiders’ first choice to solve their quarterback problemappears to be Carson Palmer.
If Bengals owner Mike Brown doesn’t budge on his stance to keep Palmer, Oakland has options.  Free agent David Garrard is a possibility.  They could just re-sign Trent Edwards for depth and go with Kyle Boller.
Or they could see what the Broncos want for Kyle Orton. Denver would be open to the move, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
“Although the Raiders are their most-heated rival in the AFC West, the Broncos would be willing to give up Orton in return for a draft pick and relief from the estimated $5 million left on his salary,” Klis wrote.
Orton made it clear Sunday night that he does not want to be traded following the birth of his newborn daughter.  He also wouldn’t seem to be a fit for Oakland’s vertical passing game.  (Then again, neither was Bruce Gradkowski.)
We suspect Orton’s salary will make him almost impossible to move, and that the Raiders wouldn’t be that interested.  The fact that Denver would trade him to a division rival says a lot about how they view Orton.
