Hakeem Nicks is a game time decision

Hakeem Nicks, Drayton FlorenceAP
The Giants officially ruled running back Ahmad Bradshaw out for Sunday’s matchup of division leaders in San Francisco, but they haven’t officially ruled Hakeem Nicks in.
Coach Tom Coughlin said Friday that Nicks will be a game-time decision. He’s listed on the team’s official injury report as questionable, but Nicks sounded very positive about his chances of playing on Sunday by saying that his injured hamstring passed every test.
Wide receiver/kick returner Jerrel Jernigan was also ruled out for the game with a hip injury. That should mean rookie Da’Rel Scott will handle kickoff return duties against the 49ers. Center David Baas and cornerback Prince Amukamara, who is waiting to make his NFL debut, were both listed as questionable.

Elderly woman finds drunk Chargers fan on her couch

passed out
It wasn’t the greatest night for Chargers fans.
They watched Raiders fans take over their stadium. They watched the Chargers lose. One fan became a suspect in a stabbing after the game.
Another fan in his 20′s wearing Chargers gear was found in an elderly woman’s house, asleep on the couch in her living room.
Officer Frank Cali of the San Diego Police Department tells the San Diego Union-Tribune that an 81-year-old woman reported finding the Chargers fan passed out on her couch around 7:20 a.m. ET.
The man was taken into custody and charged with being drunk in public. Apparently “public” includes the couches of 81-year-old women.

DeMarco Murray: I think Felix Jones is the starter

Dallas Cowboys v New York JetsGetty Images
DeMarco Murray’s three-game stretch as the Cowboys’ No. 1 running back has yielded 466 yards — the best total of any three-game stretch in franchise history. And yet Murray still doesn’t think he’s on top of the depth chart.
Instead, Murray says that Felix Jones, who has missed the last three games with a sprained ankle and has been ruled out for Sunday, will return to the starting lineup when he’s healthy.
“From my understanding, I think he’s still the starter,” Murray told the Dallas Morning News. “He’s a great running back, and he was doing a great job before he went down. I’m expecting him to come back in and do what he’s been doing, which is great, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to continue to compete and try to help out as much as I can.”
Murray added that “I know my role,” and it’s clear that he wants to avoid saying anything that would result in dissension within the Cowboys’ locker room. Good for him for that.
But the truth is, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett would be nuts to reduce Murray’s role in the offense. Murray has been sensational over the last three weeks, and Jones is the one who’s going to need to get accustomed to a different place in the Cowboys’ offense.

Ed Reed and Terrell Suggs appeared on the injury list

Baltimore Ravens v Pittsburgh SteelersGetty Images
On Wednesday, Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and safety Ed Reed fully participated in practice.
On Thursday, neither guy was there.
They appeared on the injury report as not participating, with Suggs missing practice due to a knee injury.  For Reed, it was a shoulder.
Their status for Sunday at Seattle currently isn’t known; Friday’s injury report will contain the official designation for the game.  Given the Ravens’ tendency to play down to the level of the competition, the team needs them.
The good news is that center Matt Birk (neck) fully participated in practice, a day after being unable to go.  Also, receiver Lee Evans (ankle) has practiced both days on a limited basis.

Carson Palmer progressing fast

Hue Jackson,Carson PalmerAP
Carson Palmer expected to be at Qualcomm Stadium sometime this year, just not like this.
“I was hitting up Norv [Turner] for tickets at one point – I wanted to bring my son to a game,” Palmer told Rich Eisen and crew on NFL Network’s set last night.
Hopefully his son had good seats for Thursday night’s performance. We noted a few timesduring the week that Palmer’s performance against the Broncos last week was better than the stats indicated.
“These guys have been playing a long time since training camp started, and I’m just getting rolling,” Palmer said via the Contra Costa Times. “It’s just weird. There’s no word to describe it.”
Palmer still had too many turnovers last night (2), but his deep throws toDenarius Moore were things of beauty. Even after losing Jacoby Ford, you could see Palmer enjoying the speed he had at receiver.
“[Moore] has everything you need to be a successful receiver. It just depends on how great he wants to be,” Palmer said.
If Palmer can keep making progress, the Raiders have everything they need for their first playoff berth in almost a decade.

Man stabbed outside of Raiders - Chargers game

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers (17) is sacked by Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Tommy Kelly in San DiegoReuters
A man was stabbed in a Qualcomm Stadium parking lot at Thursday night’s Raiders-Chargers game, in the second serious incident of fan violence at a Raiders road game this year.
The Associated Press reports that two men started fighting after the game, and the fight resulted in a 25-year-old man being stabbed. The victim has been uncooperative and it’s not clear what led to the fight, but one police officer said it didn’t appear to be related to the Raiders-Chargers rivalry.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the fight was during the game, but otherwise offers similar details about the incident.
The victim was treated for a stab wound to the abdomen. The injury does not appear to be life-threatening.
In August, two men were shot in the Candlestick Park parking lot and another man was badly beaten in a restroom at the Raiders-49ers preseason game.

Raiders out muscle the Chargers 24-17

Oakland Raiders Palmer celebrates a touchdown pass against the San Diego Chargers with teammate Heyward-Bey in San DiegoReuters
It may not have been the greatest trade in football history, but Oakland’s acquisition of Carson Palmer should win the Raiders a division.
Oakland looked like the best team in the division before the trade.  They are the only AFC West team with wins over quality opponents like the Texans and Jets.
After Thursday night’s too-close yet dominant24-17 victory over the Chargers, the Raiders still look like the best team.
At some point, people are going to come around to the fact that this isn’t a good Chargers squad. You can’t name a single impressive game they’ve put up all year. They have four close wins against bad teams, and now they’ve lost four straight games to fall to 4-5.
