Dolphins running back Reggie Bush has had an interesting week. He co-hosted Live with Kelly! on Friday, with a performance that at times made Al Gore seem looser than overcooked pasta. Then, Bush was delayed getting home from the Miami airport by a hazmat incident.
While watching a soccer match on Sunday from a European league about which I personally don’t know (and don’t want to know) many details, Bush posted a tweet containing the word “Nazi,” which is typically verboten in mainstream discourse.
He was more genuinely apologetic on Sunday, perhaps after being strongly advised by his handlers to do so. “If anyone was offended by my jokes on twitter yesterday I apologize,” Bush said. “They were only jokes and were not intended for anything other than that.”
Maybe Antonio Cromartie is smarter than the rest of his peers. The best thing about Twitter is also, for some, the worst: Unfiltered access to whatever impulse migrates from the brain to the fingertips.
On a slow Sunday night in late May, I’m not complaining about that.
