MJD will not require surgery on injured foot

Maurice Jones-Drew (32)AP
All things considered, the news on Maurice Jones-Drew might have been as good as expected.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jaguars running back does not have a Lisfranc injury, and won’t need surgery to fix the foot problem that kept him out of all but two plays at Oakland Sunday.
Jones-Drew will still cause him to miss “multiple games,” which leaves Rashad Jennings as the starter for the Jags.
Considering it’s still unclear whether doctors are going to allow Jags quarterback Blaine Gabbert to play, it’s a blow they can hardly afford.
