Jordan Black denies doping allegations, suspended 4 games
By Tiger Hebert
The Washington Redskins have lost an important piece of their offensive line this week. The NFL has suspended offensive tackle Jordan Black for testing positive to performance enhancing drugs. While Jordan Black is not a starter on their offensive line, he has had playing time in all 14 of the Redskins games this season. Black is now serving a four-game suspension, but denies the doping allegations.
The interesting twist is that prior to the season, rumors swirled that Black was boasting that he gained 50 pounds this year by just eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. One explanation could have been that he was on a new workout program. However, Black denies that he ever gained the 50 pounds in the first place, saying that those reports are "simply ridiculous". Black also denies the use of any PEDs and says that he actually is the NFL's smallest offensive tackle, playing at 275.2 pounds.
Black certainly has the option to appeal his league imposed suspension, but they are rarely overturned. Either way, if Black is indeed the NFL's smallest offensive tackle, he may want to start eating those peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and find a new workout regiment afterall.
