Plaxico's time with the Jets could be over

New York Jets v Miami DolphinsGetty Images
The final numbers for Plaxico Burress this season weren’t bad for a guy just getting out of prison. But they weren’t great for an NFL starter.
On a day when the Jets strongly backedoffensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, receiver Santonio Holmes, and quarterbackMark Sanchez, G.M. Mike Tannenbaum was less certain about Plaxico Burress.

Epic meltdown for Jets

Terry McCormick - National Football Post
The New York Jets didn't make the playoffs, but their late-season meltdown and off-season soap opera might make for good reality TV (Like there is such a thing!).
The Jets in short order had wide receiver/captain Santonio Holmes benched at the end of Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins, something Coach Rex Ryan claims he was unaware of, according to the New York Daily News.
New York Post report says the Jets are already considering Norv Turner and Josh McDaniels as Brian Schottenheimer's replacement, even as of this writing, Schottenheimer is stille employed as offensive coordinator.
Meanwhile, linebacker Bart Scott, who could be on the chop block, apparently flipped the bird to a photographer who approach him, says ProFootballTalk.com.

Bucs cut ties with Raheem Morris and Greg Olson

Brad Biggs - National Football Post

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to be the next team to act.
Coach Raheem Morris has been fired, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports.
The Bucs went from 10-6 in 2010 to 4-12, and they lost their final 10 games. Tampa was blown out on Sunday at Atlanta to end the season.
Morris talked about his job security in recent weeks and how the Bucs had gone young. They struggled mightily, though, and the team seemed out of control at times like the coach.
Bucs offensive coordinator Greg Olson told the National Football Post he was fired as well.

A sensational Fiesta Bowl game on Monday night featured Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck and Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon making strong cases that they’re the best 2012 NFL draft prospects at their respective positions.
Oklahoma State won 41-38 in overtime, and Luck and Blackmon were the two best players on the field in a great college football shootout.
