Last week, long-time Browns beat writer Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealerinadvertently posted an unflattering message about Browns owner Randy Lerner on Twitter.
“He is a pathetic figure, the most irrelevant billionaire in the world,” Grossi said.  The tweet was later deleted.
As it turns out, Lerner may remain sufficiently relevant to influence the work assignments at the Cleveland Plain Dealer.  According to CleveScene.com, Grossi has been removed from the beat.

Chuck Pagano is the Colts new head coach

On Tuesday, a guy who spent one year as a defensive coordinator was hired to be the new head coach of the Raiders.  On Wednesday, word has emerged that a guy who spent one year as a defensive coordinator will be hired to be the new head coach of the Colts.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano will accept the job.

Jack Del Rio could wind up in Denver

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio reacts to a call during the second half of their NFL football game against the New York Jets in East RutherfordReuters
With Dennis Allen leaving Denver for Oakland, Broncos coach John Fox needs a new defensive coordinator.
Fox may wind up hiring someone that was his old defensive coordinator in Carolina. NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports Jack Del Rio has emerged a candidate to replace Allen.
Del Rio was Fox’s coordinator with the Panthers in 2002 before landing the head coaching job in Jacksonville. It’s a little unclear if Del Rio wants to coach in 2012 or move his family from Jacksonville. He’s still collecting money from the Jaguars, so choosing to work elsewhere is essentially choosing to work for free. (If Del Rio earned $1 million in Denver, he’d make $1 million less from the Jaguars.)
Then again, most coaches simply want to work. Raheem Morris, Tony Sparano, and Steve Spaganuolo are all back in the league. They didn’t want to sit at home and collect money.

Report: Raiders expected to hire Dennis Allen

Dennis AllenAP
And the Denver Broncos will have yet another new defensive coordinator in 2012.
Jay Glazer of FOX and Adam Schefter of ESPN report that the Raiders will hire Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen to be Oakland’s new head coach.  He’ll be the 19th coach in franchise history, and the ninth since the team returned from Los Angeles in 1995.
Allen will be the first Raiders coach with a defensive background since John Madden, the longest-tenured coach in franchise history with nine seasons on the job.

Report: Vikings may reluctantly accept Metrodome site for new stadium

Zygi WilfAP
The Vikings say they’re “extremely frustrated” by Governor Mark Dayton’s decision to push for a new stadium at the site of the Metrodome, where the team has played since 1982.
According to one report out of Minnesota, it appears that owner Zygi Wilf could simply be working his way through the five stages of grief.
Charley Waters of the St. Paul Pioneer Pressreports that Wilf will “reluctantly accept” the Metrodome site, but that nothing is final.
Building a new stadium at the Metrodome site would mean that the Vikings would have to play elsewhere for multiple seasons.  The “elsewhere” would be the open-air facility where the University of Minnesota plays.
The Vikings hosted the Bears there in December 2010 for a Monday night game after the roof of the Metrodome collapsed.
