Greg Cosell gives his breakdown of Ryan Tannehill

With talk around the NFL that Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill could be drafted as high as fourth overall to the Browns, more analysts are talking up Tannehill’s tape. And Greg Cosell of NFL Films has offered up an assessment that gives plenty of reason to like Tannehill’s chances of going very high in next month’s NFL draft.
“One benefit of Tannehill’s three-quarters delivery is it allows him to throw very well on the move, both to his right and impressively, to his left,” Cosell writes. “In fact, he’s a better, more accurate passer on the run than either Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin. Tannehill was very efficient off the boot-action pass game. That will translate very well to the NFL.”

Parcells as interim coach seems awkward

It’s easy to understand why Saints coach Sean Payton would want Bill Parcells to serve as the team’s interim head coach during Payton’s suspension.  With a one-year-only outsider stepping in, the chances of Parcells later stepping on Payton’s toes would dramatically decrease.
And while it seemed unthinkable that Parcells would take the job when the news first broke on Tuesday that Payton had talked to Parcells about it (especially since Parcells dramatically downplayed the possibility), a strange sense of momentum seems to be building toward the move.
Peter King of SI.com has offered up five reasons why Parcells would say “yes,” even though in his comments to King from Monday it seemed that Parcells was poised to pass.  But there are still potential complications and other warning signs that would make an obvious quick fix seem like a long shot.

Consensus among coaches and execs: Luck is a safer pick at No. 1

There has been a groundswell of support in recent weeks for the Colts to at least consider Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III with the draft’s No. 1 overall pick. Many of Griffin’s backers point to game tape that is superior to Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck’s.
A perfect eight-of-eight NFL coaches and executives polled Tuesday by Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, however, believe Luck should be the pick. Largely because he is “safer.”
