New NFLPA president to scrutinize CBA deal

With the new CBA barely eight months old, questions have arisen regarding whether the NFLPA did a bad financial deal.  Already, the whispers comparing the final package to the so-called “worst deal in the history of sports” (i.e., the offer that the players rejected on March 11) have grown to a murmur.  And if enough players take the time to figure out the numbers, the murmurs could become loud shouting.
For now, the union isn’t saying anything about the value of the final deal, especially as it relates to the offer the NFL made before the lockout started.  New NFLPA president Domonique Foxworth says he plans to take a closer look at it soon.

Author of bogus schedule comes clean

Last week, several members of PFT Planet pointed out a supposedly leaked schedule.  It looked bogus, and the NFL said it is bogus.
Now, the guy who made it (unless the confession is bogus) has come clean:  He fabricated the schedule.
Fortunately, the confession came only after someone actually presented portions of the bogus schedule as his own exclusive reporting.
No one knows with any certainty when the real schedule will be released.  The best guess is Tuesday, April 17, at 7:00 p.m. ET, especially since TVGuide.com shows that’s precisely what will happen on ESPN at that time.
